What Build Battle worlds are

Completed

Now that we understand what Build Challenges are, how can we turn them into live, timed, head-to-head challenges or competitions?

Build Battle worlds, such as the Make & Model series and the Creative Coliseum are a series of exciting, build battle style worlds. These worlds bring the benefits of esports into scholastic settings.

In the Minecraft Make and Model worlds, two (or more) teams compete in head-to-head build battle challenges. Teams battle it out against the clock to design and build a themed object, chosen by the class or a teacher. A unique feature of these maps is that they invite others to spectate and watch the builds unfold throughout the challenge. Other Build Battle worlds, such as the Creative Coliseum, provide for up to six teams to compete at once.

Build Battle world features

  • Game and team management tools for the world host
  • An adjustable in-game timer
  • Teams build plates that provide a specific area for each team to build
  • A shared world for teams and spectators to observe what all teams are creating.
  • Controls for judging

A bonus feature of the Build Challenge worlds is that students can 3D export their designs at the end of the battle. And if the school has access to a 3D printer, they can print it.
