Hybrid learning in the intermediate classroom

Completed

Educators in the intermediate classroom provide a strong foundation for learners who are developmentally becoming more independent, discovering what they can achieve alone, as well as with their peers. At this stage of their development, intermediate learners look outside of themselves and become open to collaboration.  A world of possibilities is sparked by the intermediate learner's bursting imagination and innate desire to learn. A rich environment full of multiple and diverse pathways feeds the intermediate learner's rapid growth, thirst for knowledge, and understandings.

Microsoft 365 is a dynamic system that provides all the digital tools educators need to help learners grow holistically. This module highlights how to use Office 365 tools, including Teams and other applications, to provide a prepared, caring, hybrid learning environment. It examines how educators can utilize Microsoft tools to foster student interest and growth in both independent and collaborative learning and to engage students through feedback, failure, and successes.

Specifically, this module focuses on the five elements of hybrid learning in the intermediate classroom:

  • Learning environment
  • Class community
  • Lesson design
  • Engagement and interactivity
  • Assessment and feedback
