This module shows how to deploy endpoint security with Microsoft Defender through Microsoft Intune. You'll onboard Windows, macOS, and mobile devices, configure security baselines and endpoint security policies, deploy Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) policies, and investigate and triage incidents in the Microsoft Defender portal.
Learning objectives
By the end of this module, you'll be able to:
- Describe how Microsoft Defender protects endpoints, including its architecture, components, and security capabilities
- Onboard Windows, macOS, and mobile devices to Microsoft Defender using Microsoft Intune
- Configure security baselines, antivirus, firewall, and attack surface reduction policies
- Deploy and manage Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) policies across supported platforms
- Investigate and respond to endpoint threats from the Microsoft Defender portal
- Monitor and triage security incidents in the Microsoft Defender portal
Prerequisites
- Familiarity with Microsoft Intune device management
- Basic understanding of endpoint security concepts (antivirus, firewall, EDR)
- Awareness of Microsoft Entra ID and device compliance scenarios
