Introduction

Completed

As a developer, you are usually part of the data integration scenarios during and after a finance and operations apps implementation. In this module, you will learn how to make thoughtful data integration scenario decisions when implementing finance and operations apps.

Data entities and integrations

Data entities are consumed in various integration scenarios, such as data import and export, integration, and OData services. Custom services are used to expose X++ functionality to external clients. You can also access your data in external applications such as in Microsoft Power Apps and Microsoft Excel.

The Dynamics add-in is available in Microsoft Excel to manipulate entity data. Data entities are also used when you are creating Power Apps apps. Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is used to improve the connection between your organization and partners for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and third-party logistics (3PL). You can use the Data validation checklist workspace to verify data during an implementation, upgrade, or migration.
