Exercise - Post production output
This exercise uses the Cronus sample company from the US version of Business Central. You might need to adjust the steps if you use the sample company from your country or region.
Scenario
All 10 coffee machines are tested at the end of the first night shift. They passed the test, which means that they're ready to be used for demo purposes. To post output for the released production order, you use the output journal.
When the output is posted, you turn the released production order into a finished one, and then you check the inventory of the AutoDrip - Demo item.
Tasks
Post the output.
Convert the released production order into a finished production order.
Check the inventory of the AutoDrip - Demo item.
Steps
Follow these steps to complete the tasks in this exercise:
Use the Adjust Inventory function to add 100 units of both components to the inventory.
Select the Search for page icon in the upper-right corner of the page, enter output journals, and then select the related link.
In the Order No. field, select the released production order for the 10 units of the AutoDrip - Demo item.
Select Process > Explode Routing.
Select Post/Print > Post > Yes.
Convert the released production order into a finished production order.
Select the Search for page icon in the upper-right corner of the page, enter released production orders, and then select the related link.
Select the released production order for the AutoDrip - Demo item and then select Process > Change Status.
On the page to change the status, select Finished and then select Yes.
Select OK and then return to your role center page.
Check the inventory of the AutoDrip - Demo item.
Select the Search for page icon in the upper-right corner of the page, enter items, and then select the related link.
Select the AutoDrip - Demo item and notice that the quantity on hand is 10.
