Create a sales invoice from job planning lines

If you only want to invoice certain billable planning lines, you can create a sales invoice from the Job Planning Lines window.

To create a sales invoice from the job planning lines, follow these steps:

  1. Select the Search for page icon in the upper-right corner of the page, enter jobs, and then select the related link.

  2. Select the job for which you want to invoice a planning line and then open the job card.

  3. Select Navigate > Job Planning Lines.

  4. Select a line with type Billable or Both Budget and Billable.

  5. On the job planning line, in the Qty. To Transfer to Invoice field, enter the quantity of the item, resource, and general ledger account type that you want to invoice. You might need to add the Qty. To Transfer to Invoice field through the Personalize function. If you don't update the Qty. To Transfer to Invoice field manually, the program will create an invoice for the non-invoiced quantity.

  6. Select Process and then Create Sales Invoice to open the Job Transfer to Sales Invoice page.

  7. Select the Create New Invoice option if you want to create a new sales invoice.

  8. Enter the posting date in the Posting Date field.

  9. If you want to update a sales invoice that has not yet been posted, you can select the document number in the Append to Sales Invoice No. field. The program will automatically clear the Create New Invoice option.

  10. Select OK. The quantity will show on the job planning line in the Qty. Transferred to Invoice field.

  11. On the Job Planning Lines page, select the Sales Invoices/Credit Memos action. The Sales Invoice page opens, showing the quantity that you have transferred to the invoice.

  12. Make additional changes, if necessary, and then select the Post action.
