Exercise - Post resource consumption from the job journal
This exercise uses the CRONUS sample company from the US version of Business Central. You might need to adjust the steps if you use the sample company from your country or region.
Scenario
Resource Linda has worked eight hours on April 17 on the consulting task (task 1010) for the Redecorate meeting room job. Because Linda will only start entering time sheets in May 2020, Linda asks you to post the consumption.
To quickly post the consumption, you create the job journal line from the job planning line, and after checking the result, you post the job journal.
Tasks
Create and post the job journal line for Linda's time on the consulting job task for the Redecorate meeting room job.
Steps
Select the Search for page icon in the upper-right corner of the page, enter jobs, and then select the related link.
Select the No. field for the Redecorate meeting room job to open the job card.
Select Navigate > Job Planning Lines.
Select the planning line for resource LINDA for job task 1010. In the Qty. to Transfer to Journal field, enter 8.
Select Process > Create Job Journal Lines.
In the Posting Date field, enter 04/17/2020.
Select OK twice.
Select Process > Open Job Journal.
In the Document No. field, enter J1.
Select Post/Print > Post.
Select Yes and then OK.
