Exercise - Use filter criteria and filter the item list and open in Excel
This exercise is written to use the Cronus sample company from the US version of Business Central. You might need to adjust the steps if you use the sample company from your country or region.
Scenario - Use filter criteria
You want to see a list of vendors where the balance is greater than $10,000.
Tasks
- Filter the vendor list to only display vendors where the Balance is greater than 10000.
Steps
In the Accountant role center, click Vendors in the list places.
Point your mouse to the Balance ($) field and right click.
Click Filter.
Enter > 10000 as the value, and then click OK.
The Vendors page is now limited to only the vendors that meet your filter criteria.
Scenario - Filter the item list and open in Excel
John, one of the salespersons at your company, asks you to prepare a list in Excel with all items that are in inventory.
Tasks
Filter the item list so that it displays only the items that are in inventory, and export the list to Excel.
Open the list in Excel.
Steps
Filter the item list so that it displays only the items that are in inventory, and export the list to Excel.
Click the Search for Page icon in the right-hand corner, enter Items, and then click the related link.
On the item list, right-click Quantity On Hand, and click Filter.
Enter >0.
Click OK.
Open the list in Excel.
On the ribbon, click the Page menu.
Click Open in Excel.
