Exercise - Create bins for the south warehouse
This exercise uses the CRONUS sample company from the US version of Business Central. You might need to adjust the steps if you use the sample company from your country or region.
Scenario
Now that the SOUTH warehouse has been created, it is your task to create the following bins:
S-01-001
S-01-002
S-01-003
S-01-100
You decide to create a new bin template (SOUTH) and then use it in the bin creation worksheets to create the bins.
First, you need to set yourself up as a warehouse employee for location SOUTH.
Tasks
Set yourself up as a warehouse employee, create a bin template, and then use the bin creation worksheet to create the bins.
Steps
Select the Search for Page icon in the upper-right corner of the page, enter warehouse employees, and then select the related link.
In the User ID field, select your user account.
In the Location Code field, select SOUTH.
Enable the Default option.
Close the Warehouse Employees page.
Select the Search for Page icon in the upper-right corner of the page, enter bin templates, and then select the related link.
In the Code field, enter SOUTH.
In the Description field, enter SOUTH bins.
In the Location Code field, select SOUTH.
Close the Bin Templates page.
Select the Search for Page icon in the upper-right corner of the page, enter bin creation worksheet, and then select the related link.
Select Calculate Bins.
In the Bin Template Code field, select SOUTH.
In the Rack From No. and Rack To No. fields, enter S.
In the Section From No. and Section To No. fields, enter 01.
In the Level From No. field, enter 001.
In the Level To No. field, enter 100.
If you want a character, such as a hyphen, to separate the category fields you have defined as part of the bin code, fill in the Field Separator field with this character.
Select OK.
On the Bin Creation Worksheet page, select Create Bins.
Select Yes.
Close the Bin Creation Worksheet page.
