Turn off a pricing dimension

Completed

As an organization, you might need to look over and update your pricing strategy every few years. Any modifications that you need to make require that you turn off an existing pricing dimension and create a new one. For example, if your organization was previously using Role to price a project, you could decide that you want to price based on Work Experience instead. In this scenario, you need to turn off Role as a pricing dimension and then create a new one for Work Experience.

To turn off any pricing dimension, regardless of whether it's out-of-the-box or custom, set Applicable to Cost and Applicable to Sales fields of the Pricing Dimension to No. If you previously set up price records by using the dimension that you want to turn off, delete these Role Price and Role Price Markup records before modifying the dimension's attributes to No. If you don't complete this step, you receive an error message stating, Pricing dimension cannot be updated or deleted if there are associated price records.
