Set up home work spaces for success

Completed

Another important task when preparing for remote learning is finding a location in your home where you can work. When setting up your workspace, consider the following:

  • Promote productivity. Select a location that allows you to avoid distractions. Stay away from places in your home that are heavily trafficked, near the TV, or in other noisy areas.
  • Make it comfortable (but not too comfortable). Your workspace should have comfortable seating and plenty of space to complete your work. You should avoid sitting on beds or sofas for work because it doesn't promote good posture.
  • Consider the light. Make sure you have plenty of light in your work area. A desk by a window may be ideal, but make sure that the sunlight doesn't create a glare on your screen or create too much heat while you work.
  • Use headphones. Use headphones when and where possible so you can hear others well and so that your headphone microphone can better pick up what you are saying.
