Develop and track plans

Completed

There are several ways you can use Microsoft Teams and OneNote to actively engage stakeholders in communication and collaboration developing a shared vision for your school or system.

Teams

Start by creating a team that includes the people you want involved in your visioning process. Your team can be private so that only those you invite are able to access information, collaborate with other members of the team, and share files within the team channels. If you want your team to be public so that any members of your school or system can join, you have that option as well (up to 1000 members). This team can be specifically designed to support your school or district as you plan for school improvement. Within your newly created team, you can add channels for specific groups of people (grade levels, departments, parent organizations) to help streamline planning efforts. Each channel can house its own files and documents in their channel, hold meetings in their channel, and streamline conversations.

Take meeting notes in Teams

Taking notes has never been so easy. Meeting notes are a great place to capture notes before, during, and after a Teams meeting. The meeting organizer can add an agenda, meeting objectives, and questions to prepare for the meeting. Learn more about meeting notes below.

Use Planner to track progress with a project or task

In your new team, you can also add a Planner tab to your team channel. This will help streamline tasks and support the completion process smoothly and without confusion. By adding the Planner tab, you and members of the team will be able to assign and track tasks throughout a project and/or process.

OneNote notebook

There are so many ways OneNote can help organize your life as a school or system leader. Think about all of those artifacts you keep for your yearly review. Consider the multiple file folders you have created for teachers and students. Creating a notebook in OneNote allows you to house all of these electronic documents and more. Send emails directly to OneNote and print any document to your OneNote files.

Use cases

  • Create a notebook for your personal growth and include sections for your personal goals, for documents and articles, and for plans for upcoming professional events
  • Create a notebook with sections for each grade level or staff member, create sections for data collections, district planning, and more

OneNote is an electronic notebook where you can communicate, collaborate, and use with individual staff members accordingly.
