In this module, you learned the features of Azure Boards within Azure DevOps. You can use Azure Boards to manage your development process by creating and working with Work Items. When you create a new project in Azure DevOps, you can select a process template that defines which types of work items are available. You can create new process templates by inheriting from the built-in templates. Then you can modify the work item types, and change fields and settings.

For Business Central development you can choose between Basic, Scrum or Agile. They all have a parent work item Issue, and you need to create smaller tasks within an Issue. These tasks are then handled by the development team. Azure Boards offers a Kanban board (or a Taskboard) that can be used to easily create new tasks and change the status of the task by using drag and drop functionality. Then you can create multiple iterations with Boards. An iteration typically takes around 14 days, before a new iteration or sprint starts.

To get the most out of Azure Boards, you need to define the capacity of your team per sprint. Then you can get a nice overview of the team's workload for that sprint.

You also learned how to link code changes and commits to a work item, but using the hashtag, followed by the work item number. Finally, you learned how to create project dashboards to have reporting possibilities and a wiki to gather all the project information in one central location.

With Microsoft Teams, you have the possibility to load and use Azure DevOps dashboard directly from within Teams. This is perfect for management or for quick entry because you don't need to open Azure DevOps to follow the progress of the project or create new work items.
