Exercise - Create an assortment, add a product category, and exclude an item

For the exercises in this module, use the demo data in legal entity USRT.

Scenario

You will create a new assortment, assign a Commerce channel, add a product category to that assortment, and then exclude a specific item from that assortment that you don’t want to be available in the Houston store.

  1. In the USRT company, go to Retail and Commerce > Catalogs and assortments > Assortments.
  2. Select New.
  3. Set the Effective date field to today’s date.
  4. Set the Assortment name to MS Learn Assortment.
  5. In the Commerce channels group, select +Add Line.
  6. In the Available organization nodes hierarchy, go to Contoso Retail > Fashion.
  7. Select Houston.
  8. Select the right arrow.
  9. Select OK.
  10. In the Products section, select Add Line.
  11. In the Category column, select the down arrow in the field.
  12. In the Hierarchy field drop-down menu, in the pop-up page, select Fabrikam navigation hierarchy.
  13. Select the Accessories node.
  14. Select OK.
  15. In the Products section, select Add Line.
  16. In the Product column, enter product 91018.
  17. In the Line type column, change the value to Exclude.
  18. Select Publish in the Action Pane.
