Universal Print anywhere is a platform for offering pull-print printers, that follow the user, built on top of the Universal Print cloud service. Each of these pull-print printers allow any number of registered printers to participate in the release workflow of an user print job. Registered printers can participate in one or many pull-print printers and even in combination as a direct printer.
By building on top of the core Universal Print platform, Universal Print anywhere continues to offer a simple and secure server-less architecture and deployment when combined with Universal Print ready printers.
How does it work
Onboarding printers
The overall deployment architecture remains the same as before. Printers are registered to Universal Print directly or through some proxy component, such as the Universal Print connector.
Setting up secure release
Once the printers are registered with Universal Print, you'll want to configure the secure release option for each printer you want to use with Universal Print anywhere. Currently, Universal Print offers Secure Release with QR code. Additional secure release options may be offered in the future.
Creating anywhere printer queues
Using the Universal Print administrator portal, select Pull-print printers menu item. Once there, click Add to create your first pull-print printer.
