DNS WMI Provider Scripting Examples

This section provides scripting examples that demonstrate how to script administrative tasks using the DNS WMI Provider.

Managing a DNS Server	Provides samples that enable management of a DNS Server, including stopping, starting, or restarting a server, listing zones, adding or deleting IP addresses, and others.
Managing DNS Resource Records	Demonstrates how to connect to the DNS WMI Provider, and how to perform various tasks associated with managing resource records—adding, deleting, modifying, or listing resource records.
Managing DNS Zones	Samples here include creating, modifying, and deleting a zone, as well as pausing, resuming, updating, and other zone tasks posed to DNS administrators.
