Customize azure backup report on MABS server

Question

Hi Team,

We are looking for customized backup reports on MABS server.

We have setup backup server (MABS) on onprem and backup is happening on Disk and Azure RSV vault successfully. but thing is that on azure backup sever we can see only 4 reports template like "Status" Report , "Disk utilization" reports , etc. only. these are High level reporting templates provided in MABS reporting but we are looking for Low level detailed reporting for compliance and audit requirement.

Please can you let us know if customize or Adhoc reporting is available for Azure Backup server (MABS) Reporting console. and how to achieve adhoc reporting in MABS server?

Please assist as soon as possible.

Backup reports can be customized with the help of Azure workbooks. This is possible with the help of analyzing the log entries saved in a log analytics workspace with the help of custom queries used in workbooks.

Today, Azure Backup provides a reporting solution that uses Azure Monitor logs and Azure workbooks. These resources help you get rich insights on your backups across your entire backup estate. This article explains how to configure and view Azure Backup reports.

Hi @Jayesh Sawant - Thank you for posting your question. I understand your requirement for Customize azure backup report on MABS server for the following:

1) Workload name(VM/Files/Folder)
2) Backup Start and End time (duration)
3) data backedup to disk
4) data backedup to vault
5) Size of backup transferred to disk and vault
6) Onprem Disk backup status
7) Cloud Vault backup status

Apart from on-Prem disk backup status, all other fields can be obtained by querying Log Analytics, if you have configured Log analytics for your vaults. Schema and sample queries documented here: https://learn.microsoft.com/azure/backup/backup-reports-system-functions#sample-queries

For now, there are no other alternative/workaround to get on-premises disk utilization.
