Hi

Is it possible to have a rule in ENTRA or Intune to prevent the users from using Always keep on this computer in the OneDrive synced folder

the goal is to prevent downloading of documents in windows explorer folder when synchronization a sharepoint folder to the computer.

Like this, when someone leave the company, he is not able to keep the documents.

For example having the folder in the windows explorer but all the document in the cloud only.

When you open the document, it downloaded it and when you saved it, it uploaded it to the cloud and remove it from the computer...

Thank

Eric

    I took a quick look on Onedrive settings offering in Intune's Settings Catalog. You might want to go through at least these settings and evaluate them for your need;
    *Block file downloads when users are low on disk space
    Convert synced team site files to online-only files
    Use OneDrive Files On-Demand
    *
    Also, consider the fact that when someone leaves your company and you disable and delete user's device and user account, there will be no more access to the data (ofcourse this will require one time internet access after account deletation). After this user will not be able to sign in to windows.

    @Eric Deroover, Thanks for posting in Q&A. After going through the OneDrive policy, I find there's no option (Policy) to disable Always Keep on this device.

    I only find setting "Use OneDrive Files On-Demand". When enable, new users who set up the sync app see online-only files in File Explorer, by default. File contents don't download until a file is opened.

    And setting "Convert synced team site files to online-only files". When enable it, files in currently syncing team sites are changed to online-only files,

    Hope the above information can help.
