Just logged in with another users credentials, and received a "The User Profile Service service failed the sign-in. User profile cannot be loaded."

I couldn't elevate to admin either, it was a weird issue.

We held down shift and restarted the computer while holding shift and suddenly was met with 'Windows Updates are underway...'

Once that finished, we held shift again, restarted, and it got stuck on the Lenovo splash screen. After letting go of shift, we got to the login screen, and it let me sign in with a different user account.

Unfortunately, we are still getting the Malformed JWT error. But it was something worth noting since this is seemingly pointing to a May update issue. Just wanted to present any information I come across.

To solve the issue, we had to modify the corrupted registry value Locale (windows->Search for Registry Editor) under Computer\HKEY_USERS.DEFAULT\Control Panel\International, the value had corrupted data we needed to change "Locale" to "00000409" and "LocaleName" to "en-US"/"en-SG" depending on your location and reboot your system to resolve this error!
