When installing the connected machine agent, a 2nd service is also installed, called the Azure Arc proxy.

What is it for, If by description it acts as a forward proxy for onpremise servers without direct link, how do we configure it, so the other agents on the other machines can use it..

@Thomas Førde - Welcome to Microsoft Q&A and thanks for reaching out to us.

The Azure Arc proxy service is installed along with the Azure Connected Machine agent to enable communication between on-premises servers and Azure Arc. The proxy service acts as a forward proxy for on-premises servers that do not have a direct link to Azure.

To configure the Azure Arc proxy service, you can use the azcmagent config command.

Hope this helps. and please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.

Hi, please can you detail what you mean for Arc Proxy service? Are you trying to onboard VM through connected machine agent using a Proxy?

This link details what services are installed through Arc concept https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-arc/servers/agent-overview

If you need to use a proxy then you can configure the agent to do so: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-arc/servers/manage-agent?tabs=windows#agent-specific-proxy-configuration

The connected machine agent offers its own proxy feature, allowing one agent to act as a proxy for all other agents..

This is what the service is for.

Unfortunately asking MS Support about it, its still in a limited private preview, so that is the reason why it doesn't work or have any documentation for it.

Once it become public preview i can start use it.
