Hello @Peter Thomas,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.
If you can confirm that your license is valid for activating Visual Studio Professional 2022, then please try to remove/sign out your license/account, add your account again, see if this works.
If it doesn’t work, try to rename(rename to any name for example VisualStudio_backup
) this folder C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\VSCommon\OnlineLicensing\VisualStudio
and this folder C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\.IdentityService
, restart your machine and sign in VS again.
If renaming the folders still doesn’t work, we may need to narrow down this issue. Try to install VS Professional 2022 on another machine and sign in VS on that machine. If it works, then your license is valid and there might be something wrong on your original machine/VS. If it fails, then your license may be not valid, try to double confirm with VS Subscription team here: Visual Studio Subscription Support.
Some other suggestions:
- Update VS to the latest version.
- Relaunch VS and sign in again.
- on Sign-in page, click Account options, switch to use another web browser.
Feel free to let us know the results :)
Sincerely,
Tianyu
