Had two servers with the same DHCP IP Address.

Turned one off, logged into the other.

Changed the NIC from DHCP to Static. Lost Connection. Cannot reconnect on either DHCP or Static IP.

Can we ADD a second Network Connection (NIC) with a free IP Address to undo the NIC settings of the 1st NIC (to re-establish a connection) ??

This is where it gets convoluted ... or

Just add a new NIC with a known IP Address, and remove the old NIC.

open to suggestions.

To add a second network interface card (NIC) to a virtual machine (VM) in Azure, you can follow the steps outlined in the Microsoft documentation. Once you have added the second NIC, you can remove the old NIC. This should allow you to establish a connection with the VM again.
