    Thanks for the clarification.

    Perhaps Windows only visually displays a different version than the one on the HP website, or the currently installed version was automatically installed by Windows and may not be the correct version for your laptop.

    I suggest reinstalling the Bluetooth driver as instructed below.

    Before starting the procedure, download the latest driver for your laptop from the link below.

    https://support.hp.com/hk-en/drivers/hp-255r-15.6-inch-g10-notebook-pc/2102647679

    Driver name: Realtek RTL8xxx Series Bluetooth Driver

    (Run the downloaded EXE file to run the installer.)

    Disconnect from the internet to prevent Windows from installing the driver automatically.

    (Turn off Wi-Fi or disconnect the Ethernet cable during the entire procedure.)

    Then, uninstall the current driver:

    1. Open "Device Manager" (Windows + X and select Device Manager);
    2. Expand "Bluetooth";
    3. Right-click on the Realtek Bluetooth adapter and select "Uninstall device";
    4. On the confirmation screen, check "Attempt to remove the driver for this device" and click "Uninstall";
    5. Restart (not shutdown) the PC.

    Then, run the driver installer you downloaded and follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver.

    After doing that, restart (not shutdown) your PC one last time and see if the problem has been resolved.

    If the problem persists, please let me know.

    Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

    It is necessary to investigate this issue to understand the reason for it.

    Please do the following:

    1. Press "Windows + X" and select "Device Manager";

    Follow these steps in order on the HP laptop (Windows 10/11):

    1. Confirm the laptop actually has Bluetooth and it’s turned on
      • Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices (Windows 11) or Start > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices (Windows 10).
      • Make sure the Bluetooth toggle is present and switched On.
      • If there is no Bluetooth section at all, the device may not have Bluetooth or the driver is missing; in that case, install the Bluetooth driver from HP’s support site.
    2. Put the headphones into pairing mode and move them close
      • Ensure the headphones are charged and powered on.
      • Put them into pairing mode (usually holding the power or Bluetooth button until a light flashes; check the headphone manual).
      • Keep them within a few feet of the laptop and away from USB 3.0 devices that might interfere.
    3. Try adding the device again
      • In Bluetooth & devices / Bluetooth & other devices, select Add device (or Add Bluetooth or other device), choose Bluetooth, and wait a few seconds.
      • When the headphones appear in the list, select them to pair.
    4. If the headphones show but won’t connect, remove and re-add
      • In Bluetooth & devices / Bluetooth & other devices, find the headphones in the list.
      • Select More options (…) > Remove device (or Remove device).
      • Then select Add device again and pair once more.
    5. Restart Bluetooth and Windows
      • Turn Bluetooth off in Settings, wait 10 seconds, then turn it back on and try pairing again.
      • If that fails, restart the laptop: Start > Power > Restart, then repeat the pairing steps.
    6. Run the built-in Bluetooth troubleshooter
      • Open the Get Help app and run the Bluetooth troubleshooter using the “Run the troubleshooter in Get Help” link from the Bluetooth support article. It will diagnose and attempt to fix common Bluetooth issues.
    7. If Bluetooth icon is present but nothing is found, reinstall the Bluetooth adapter
      • Open Device Manager and expand Bluetooth.
      • Right‑click the Bluetooth adapter and select Uninstall device.
      • Restart the laptop so Windows can reinstall the driver automatically. If it does not, use Action > Scan for hardware changes in Device Manager.
      • Then try pairing the headphones again.

    If none of the above steps work and Bluetooth still cannot see any device, install the latest Bluetooth drivers from HP’s support page for the exact laptop model, then repeat steps 1–5.
