@Garima C - The issue is that the Excel worksheet being imported cannot have spaces in the worksheet name. Change the tab name so that it is titled Phase_1 and you will find that you are not prompted to pick a tab (assuming it is the only tab) and you will see the field choices.
Importing excel workbook data into MS Project isn't working
Hi
When I try to import excel data into MS Project, I have to select the tab name (which I haven't had to do before if there is only one active tab), but when I try and select the data - nothing is showing.
I have cleared all formatting from the excel file, used 'Task Name', 'Start' and 'Finish' as the data headers and there are no spaces in the file name.
Any ideas, why the data fields are not displaying?
Apologies but could not work out what tags to use, so have selected something so I could post the question!
Thanks

No, I haven't managed to sort it out. So agree, I think it must be a bug.

2023-01-31T16:19:34.3833333+00:00 I had the same issue. The way I worked around it was to export my Excel file in .csv format. Then project was able to import the columns correctly when I opened the .csv file. Hope that works for you.

2023-02-06T18:42:16.4733333+00:00 Thanks, Daniel! I had the same problem; renamed the worksheet and was able to import my Excel file.
As a side note, it's a complete joke that a piece of software that costs hundreds of dollars is unable to correctly perform the trivial task of data import, and does not even give any indication with respect to what's wrong and how to fix it... A major disappointment.
