Supported Culture Codes

Note

Bing Maps for Enterprise service retirement

Bing Maps for Enterprise is deprecated and will be retired. Free (Basic) account customers can continue to use Bing Maps for Enterprise services until June 30th, 2025. Enterprise account customers can continue to use Bing Maps for Enterprise services until June 30th, 2028. To avoid service disruptions, all implementations using Bing Maps for Enterprise REST APIs and SDKs will need to be updated to use Azure Maps by the retirement date that applies to your Bing Maps for Enterprise account type.

Azure Maps is Microsoft's next-generation maps and geospatial services for developers. Azure Maps has many of the same features as Bing Maps for Enterprise, and more. To get started with Azure Maps, create a free Azure subscription and an Azure Maps account. For more information about azure Maps, see Azure Maps Documentation. For migration guidance, see Bing Maps Migration Overview.

The following list shows the culture codes supported by the Bing Maps REST Services APIs.

Note

For supported cultures, street names are localized to the local culture. For example, if you request a location in France, the street names are localized in French. For other localized data such as country/region names, the level of localization will vary for each culture. For example, there may not be a localized name for the "United States" for every culture code.

**The Imagery API renders tiles in United States English (en-US) for all locations on the Earth at all zoom levels. The following languages are rendered for all locations on the Earth at zoom levels 1-9, and for Europe locations at all zoom levels (1-21): fr-FR, de-DE, it-IT, es-ES, nl-BE.

1 When you specify es-MX or es-US in the request, the culture is converted to es-ES.

2 When you specify fr-CA in the request, the culture is converted to fr-FR.
