Create and update routes (form)
Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012
Click Production control > Common > Routes > All routes. Select a route, and then on the Action Pane, click Edit.
Use this form to create, update, and approve routes. Routes contain the information that is required to guide an item through production. Each route includes information about the following:
Operations to be performed and their sequence.
Resources needed to complete the operations.
Standard times that are required to setup and run the production.
A different route can be mapped for each product. The route mapped depends on the product and the process. You can create an entirely new route, or you can base a new route on route information that already exists and then adjust or update the information to match the new production process.
Changes to route information in this form do not affect route information in the base data.
Route versions
Use route versions to accommodate variations in the production of products, or to provide you with greater control over the production process. For example, a route version that uses a different item to save costs or a different resource to use available capacity.
