List<T>.Capacity Propiedad

En el ejemplo siguiente se muestra la Capacity propiedad en varios puntos de la vida de una lista. Comentarios

Capacityes el número de elementos que List<T> puede almacenar antes de que se requiera el cambio de tamaño, mientras Count que es el número de elementos que realmente están en .List<T>

Capacity siempre es mayor o igual que Count. Si Count supera al agregar elementos, la capacidad aumenta mediante la reasignación automática de la matriz interna antes de copiar los elementos antiguos Capacity y agregar los nuevos elementos.

Si la capacidad es significativamente mayor que el recuento y desea reducir la memoria usada por List<T>, puede reducir la capacidad llamando al TrimExcess método o estableciendo la Capacity propiedad explícitamente en un valor inferior. Cuando el valor de Capacity se establece explícitamente, la matriz interna también se reasigna para acomodar la capacidad especificada y se copian todos los elementos.

Recuperar el valor de esta propiedad es una operación O(1); establecer la propiedad es una operación de O(n), donde n es la nueva capacidad.
