El código siguiente serializa una instancia de un tipo (PersonVersion2) que es la segunda versión del tipo serializable (Person). La segunda versión contiene datos adicionales (campo ID) que no se encuentran en la primera versión. El código deserializa a continuación el documento XML en un objeto Person y después vuelve a serializar inmediatamente el objeto con los datos adicionales incluidos. Por último, el código deserializa el nuevo XML en un objeto PersonVersion2 y escribe los datos completos a la consola, siempre y cuando los datos hayan realizado un viaje de ida y vuelta (round trip) respecto a una versión anterior del tipo. Observe que el atributo DataContractAttribute se debe aplicar con Name y las propiedades Namespace establecidas en el mismo nombre y espacio de nombres como la clase original.

Comentarios

El ExtensionDataObject es la estructura que almacena los datos adicionales detectados por XmlObjectSerializer durante las operaciones de deserialización. La serialización usa esta estructura para escribir los datos adicionales en la instancia serializada. La propiedad ExtensionData de la interfaz IExtensibleDataObject devuelve la estructura.
