How to: Install Microsoft Internet Information Services
Microsoft Internet information Services (IIS) is a software prerequisite for some Microsoft SQL Server 2005 components. For more information, see Hardware and Software Requirements for Installing SQL Server 2005. For information on how to install IIS 7.0 on Windows Vista, see this Microsoft Web site.
To install Internet Information Services
Close all applications that are currently running on your computer.
In Control Panel, double-click Add or Remove Programs.
In the left pane, click Add/Remove Windows Components. The Windows Components Wizard will launch.
Select Internet Information Services, and then click Next. If the check box is already selected, IIS is already installed on your computer.
Note
For some server operating systems, IIS may be a component of the Application Server selection. If this is the case for your operating system, select Application Server, and then click Next.
IIS will be installed and configured on your computer.
