Sample applications

The education accelerator encompasses two components: education data model and sample applications. The education data model includes concepts for both higher education (i.e. tertiary education) and K-12 education (i.e. primary and secondary education) in a single data model. The sample applications are designed to show use cases of the data model and help partners deliver solutions to their customers faster. Some of the sample applications are contextualized specifically for higher education scenarios, and some of the sample applications and sample data are contextualized specifically for K-12 education.

The education accelerator includes the following sample applications that are contextualized for higher education:

These sample applications are described in more detail below.

Higher education portal

The sample higher education portal was created with Microsoft Power Pages. The portal allows students to access relevant university information, personal course history and achievements, grant application status, and scholarships available and applied to. Students can also view their courses and assignments, and create and manage appointments with their advisor.

Higher education app

The sample higher education app was created with a Power Apps model-drive application. This app provides the administrator experience for the higher education portal described in the previous section. It also includes forms and dashboards that enable educators, advisors, administrators, and other staff members to gain insights from multiple sources of data in a single location.
