These release notes provide information about new features and non-security updates that are included in Monthly Enterprise Channel updates to Office 365 ProPlus, Visio Pro for Office 365, Project Online Desktop Client and Office 365 Business.

  • Connector for Dataverse and Power Platform: While Access has been integrated with the cloud through Sharepoint and SQL, the new connector to Dataverse and the Power Platform enables new scenarios that unlocks benefits for developers who can now create custom apps for Mobile and MS Teams, plus automations, and chatbots built with Power Platform and Dataverse for Teams that work directly with their Access data and Dataverse.   • Track just your changes in your documents: Sometimes when you're collaborating, you only want your own changes to be tracked, without forcing this setting on others. To track only your changes, go to Review tab, select Track changes, and choose Just Mine.

Excel

  • Improvements to Power BI Request Access: We’ve upgraded the experience for users who create PivotTables connected to Power BI datasets. Prior to the improved experience, when a user tried to refresh a PivotTable connected to a dataset that they do not have access to, they would see a generic error message. Now, a specific error dialog appears that informs the user that they do not have access to the dataset, and allows them to click a link to request access from the owner. Once access is granted, the user can go back to the PivotTable and refresh to continue their analysis.

Outlook

  • Save time while composing messages: Outlook shows you writing suggestions that help you compose messages quickly. To accept the suggestion, just use the Tab key.

  • Show multiple mini-months in Calendar To-Do Bar: This feature allows you to show multiple mini-months both horizontally and vertically in the Calendar To-Do bar.

  • We fixed an issue that could cause memory usage of an application that uses DAO or OLEDB interfaces to read Access databases to grow rapidly. In some cases, this could cause abnormal program termination.

  • This updated fixed an issue that caused a custom application that uses OLEDB interfaces to open an Access database that contained links to SharePoint lists to close unexpectedly.

Excel

  • We fixed an issue with rendering in Excel and Project when using certain older builds of Windows 11.

  • We fixed an issue where a recovered file would be opened as read-only.

Outlook

  • We fixed an issue that caused users to see only a subset of the messages to get moved when moving multiple mail items from Focused to Other or Other to Focused.

  • We fixed an issue that caused users to experience a stop responding when responding to certain contacts.

  • We fixed an issue, which was caused the app to close unexpectedly when the user was unable to open projects.

  • The home place banner allows Microsoft to recommend features the user has on their device as part of their Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise: Starting with Version 2202, users who obtain their updates from the Monthly Enterprise Channel, Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel (Preview) and Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel will also see these recommendations. When users click on the File menu, the Home tab may display a banner with a feature recommendation. Each recommendation comes with a Learn button that takes the user to either a help file or a tutorial about the feature. There is also a Dismiss option to dismiss the banner.

  • We fixed an issue that caused an application to close unexpectedly when connection to an Access or Jet database using multiple threads.

  • This change fixed an issue that may cause an application that used the OLEDB API to open an Access database (.accdb file) to close unexpectedly if the database contains links to SharePoint lists.

Excel

  • We fixed an issue where an application using the OLEDB API with the ACE.OLEDB.12.0 or ACE.OLEDB.16.0 provider was closing unexpectedly.

  • On a multi-monitor setup dialogs with two cell edit boxes would hide data from the user when selecting cells. This fix unhides that data from the UI dialog box. This change impacts the conditional formatting or series selection dialog boxes on a 3 monitor setup.

  • When you have a Microsoft Excel 97-2003 Worksheet object embedded inside another application such as a Word document, using the Convert feature to convert it to a Microsoft Excel Worksheet (Office OpenXML) object didn't always complete the conversion until you opened the embedded object and made a change to it. This has been fixed so that the object is completely converted upon using the Convert feature.

  • We fixed an issue where the search text gets reset in PivotTable fields selection taskpane.

Outlook

  • We fixed an issue that caused the smart link URL to not update when the user changed the permissions on the link in the message.

  • We fixed an issue that caused applications to become unresponsive after loading a contact card.

  • We fixed an issue that caused a stop responding when loading personas.

  • We fixed an issue that caused users to see garbled text in some fields when exporting contacts to a CSV.

Word

  • We fixed an issue where Repeat style applies Normal instead of repeating style.

Office Suite

  • We fixed an issue related to text anchoring in SVG rendering.

  • We fixed an issue selecting text via double-tap when using the touchpad.

  • We fixed a reliability issue related to refreshing elements that may contain text.

PowerPoint

  • We fixed an issue where some pop-up UI elements could not be clicked, such as the Join Meeting pop-up in Outlook or the Welcome Back pop-up in PowerPoint.

Project

  • We fixed an issue where manually scheduled tasks were rescheduled to earlier dates when the user opened projects that had been Saved As to a different name. Users should no longer see manually scheduled tasks rescheduled while opening these projects.

  • We fixed an issue where some projects would close unexpectedly when loading customized reports.

Word

  • We fixed an issue where bookmarks and table of content links weren't working after exporting to PDF.

  • We fixed an issue where some pop-up UI elements could not be clicked, such as the Join Meeting pop-up in Outlook or the Welcome Back pop-up in PowerPoint.

Office Suite

  • We fixed an issue during protected coauthoring where a sensitivity label and encryption might be removed from a file hosted in SharePoint or OneDrive.

  • We fixed an issue where Office shows an account error in the SSO and ADFS DRS environment.

  • We fixed an issue related to text anchoring in SVG rendering.

  • We fixed a reliability issue related to refreshing elements that may contain text.

  • We fixed an issue that completed the following changes:

  1. There was an issue in Outlook where the teaching callouts (tips) about the new look of Office did not appear. These appear now.
  2. Many users of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote have missed the teaching callouts about the new look of Office, which include information about what changed and how to change settings, or toggle off the experience. This change retriggers these teaching callouts for users to be notified about the changes.
