CBaseRenderer.OnReceiveFirstSample method
[The feature associated with this page, DirectShow, is a legacy feature. It has been superseded by MediaPlayer, IMFMediaEngine, and Audio/Video Capture in Media Foundation. Those features have been optimized for Windows 10 and Windows 11. Microsoft strongly recommends that new code use MediaPlayer, IMFMediaEngine and Audio/Video Capture in Media Foundation instead of DirectShow, when possible. Microsoft suggests that existing code that uses the legacy APIs be rewritten to use the new APIs if possible.]
The OnReceiveFirstSample
method is called when the filter receives a sample while paused.
Syntax
virtual void OnReceiveFirstSample(
IMediaSample *pMediaSample
);
Parameters
-
pMediaSample
-
Pointer to the sample's IMediaSample interface.
Return value
This method does not return a value.
Remarks
The CBaseRenderer::Receive method calls this method. It does nothing in the base class, but the derived class can override it. This method is intended primarily for video renderers. When a video renderer is paused, it typically displays the first sample as a still image.
Seeking the graph while paused also causes this method to be called.
