CMediaSample.IsDiscontinuity method
[The feature associated with this page, DirectShow, is a legacy feature. It has been superseded by MediaPlayer, IMFMediaEngine, and Audio/Video Capture in Media Foundation. Those features have been optimized for Windows 10 and Windows 11. Microsoft strongly recommends that new code use MediaPlayer, IMFMediaEngine and Audio/Video Capture in Media Foundation instead of DirectShow, when possible. The IsDiscontinuity method determines if this sample represents a break in the data stream. This method implements the IMediaSample::IsDiscontinuity method.
Syntax
HRESULT IsDiscontinuity();
Parameters
This method has no parameters.
Return value
Returns S_OK if the sample is a break in the data stream, and S_FALSE otherwise.
Remarks
The CMediaSample::m_dwFlags member variable specifies this property.
