IDxtAlphaSetter::put_Alpha method

[The feature associated with this page, DirectShow, is a legacy feature. It has been superseded by MediaPlayer, IMFMediaEngine, and Audio/Video Capture in Media Foundation. Those features have been optimized for Windows 10 and Windows 11. Microsoft strongly recommends that new code use MediaPlayer, IMFMediaEngine and Audio/Video Capture in Media Foundation instead of DirectShow, when possible. Microsoft suggests that existing code that uses the legacy APIs be rewritten to use the new APIs if possible.]

Note

[Deprecated. This API may be removed from future releases of Windows.]

The put_Alpha method specifies the alpha value for the entire image.

Syntax

HRESULT put_Alpha(
  [in] long Alpha
);

Parameters

Alpha [in]

The alpha value. This value will be applied to the entire target image. To disable this property, set a negative value.

Return value

If this method succeeds, it returns S_OK. Otherwise, it returns an HRESULT error code.

Remarks

If you set this property to a non-negative value, you must also disable the alpha ramp property, by calling put_AlphaRamp with a negative value. Otherwise the effect will not render correctly.
