Les classes qui dérivent de la classe SecurityTokenSerializer doivent substituer la méthode WriteKeyIdentifierCore(XmlWriter, SecurityKeyIdentifier). La méthode WriteKeyIdentifier(XmlWriter, SecurityKeyIdentifier) appelle la méthode WriteKeyIdentifierCore(XmlWriter, SecurityKeyIdentifier).
