Interface

Applies To: Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Vista

Interface contains settings for the TCP/IP interface.

TCP/IP settings can be divided into two primary groups—global settings and interface settings. Global settings apply to the protocols as a whole and are applied across all network interfaces. Interface settings are specific to a particular network interface.

Note

The settings in Interface must be added in the following order: Ipv4Settings, Ipv6Settings, Identifier, UnicastIpAddresses, and then Routes. After saving your Unattend file in Windows SIM, verify in the XML file that the output is shown in the correct order, as shown in the XML example below.

Child Elements

Identifier

Specifies the interface to apply to the other settings within Interface.

Ipv4Settings

Specifies settings for the IP version 4 interface.

Ipv6Settings

Specifies settings for the IP version 6 interface.

Routes

Specifies the IPv4 and IPv6 routes.

UnicastIpAddresses

Specifies the unicast IP addresses for the IPv4 and IPv6 settings.
