Visual Basic 2010 for 32 bit systems

Question

Sunday, December 4, 2016 9:18 AM

Where can i download visual basic express 2010 for a 32 bit system? i don't like 2015 as it slows down my other 64 bit computer, and on my 32 bit, i can be sure it won't work. If 2010 isn't free, visual studio 2012 will work.  But i do not know if the installer i found and downloaded at https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=23507 will work on 32 bit. it does not say.

You should be able to grab a Visual Studio 2010 Express install-image from here:

Yes it does (that's what I use) but before you do that, you are aware that you can set it to compile to 32-bit, right?

It's in the advanced compile properties. Just set that to what you want then rebuild.

VS2010 will work on 32 or 64 bit systems.  I still have it installed on my 32bit Win7 machine along side VS2015.

If you say it can`t be done then i`ll try it

How stupid.

OP asks: "Where can i download visual basic express 2010 for a 32 bit system?"

I provide a direct download link to the requested software.

A moderator shows up and unproposes my reply as an answer. With no explanation.

Well, if that's the way moderation works on MSDN Forums, I'll spend my energy somewhere else. Well done, moderator!

it turns out that http://download.microsoft.com/download/1/E/5/1E5F1C0A-0D5B-426A-A603-1798B951DDAE/VS2010Express1.iso does indeed  work, as you said

thanks!

Yes, it is strange, there are own habits between contributors not to propose own answers, but to let to do this by somebody else to be sure you made no mistake.

However, it is strange that a moderator undo your proposal if the link was correct. He/she could have done that and then propose it him/herself.
