John Frederiksen joins the RP team
Response Point is Microsoft’s answer to bring our next generation voice communications solution to small business customers. We have successfully brought this product to market at the beginning of 2008. In the past 12 months, we learned a lot from working with our customers, OEM partners, and resellers. To scale RP as a real business, I’m pleased to announce today that John Frederiksen will join us to help us achieve our goals together. John is one of the most respected marketing minds in the company. John Frederiksen worked as the GM for the Service Lines and Marketing team. I have been very impressed with John’s combination of leadership and business expertise.
John will start on Jan 5 and report to me. Current RP leaders (Robert Brown, Regi John, Li Jiang, Richard Sprague, and John Wang) will report to John. John will oversee RP’s engineering, marketing and business efforts. I am very excited to have the opportunity to partner with John to scale our RP business!
This is what John has to say about himself:
John Frederiksen was previously the General Manager for the Service Lines and Marketing team within the Microsoft Services Group, a $3b business responsible for support and professional services for Microsoft Enterprise Software. Prior to joining Microsoft Services, John managed the Microsoft.com, and MSDN & TechNet Groups in Server and Tools Business. During John’s career at Microsoft he has also been the General Manager responsible for Product Management for the Windows Client Operating Systems including product planning, technical marketing, PR, and business strategy. Products under his management during his tenure with the Windows Client Product Management Group included Windows XP and Windows Millennium Edition. Prior to running the PC Experience team, John was Director of the Windows 2000 Server Product Management team and a Lead Product Manager on Microsoft Exchange Server.
Prior to joining Microsoft, John worked for Novell as a Systems Engineer in Boston. John holds an MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia and a BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University. John’s weekends are busy with his family, wife Maria and their 3 boys, Erik, Jake and Zackery.
Happy holidays!
Best regards,
