Top 10 Online Courses for IT Beginners: IT Pro
It’s never easy to learn and completely understand a new technology – I know…and this is exactly the reason for today’s blog series! Ok, I have to admit, it’s a mini series :-)
Please find below my Top 10 Microsoft Virtual Academy online courses for beginners:
Part 1/2: Top 10 Online Courses for IT Beginners: IT Pro
Part 2/2: Top 10 Online Courses for IT Beginners: Developer
And these are my Top 10 for IT Professionals:
1: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals
2: Networking Fundamentals
3: Database Fundamentals
4: Security Fundamentals
5: Office 365 Fundamentals
6: Windows 10 Technical Preview Fundamentals for IT Pros
7: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals: Websites
8: OneDrive for Business: Store, Sync, and Share Your Work Files
9: Windows Azure SQL Database
10: Troubleshooting Windows 8
The above listed ten online courses are just a small selection of what the MVA has to offer. There are so many more online courses that deserve to show up in my Top 10 list. E.g. Understanding Active Directory, Getting Started with Microsoft Azure Machine Learning, The Server and Cloud Enrollment and Core Solutions of Microsoft Lync Server 2013 Jump Start. Unfortunately, a Top 10 list is limited to ten elements per se :-)
Microsoft Virtual Academy contains hundreds of online trainings – and counting! Among others, IT Pro related topics are Hybrid & Private Cloud, Management & Security, Virtualization, Managing Desktop & Devices and Server Infrastructure. Find a complete list of IT Pro courses in the Microsoft Virtual Academy.
We are publishing new courses several times a week! I recommend you to subscribe to the RSS-Feed for new MVA courses to get the latest updates right into your inbox. Please also have a look at the MVA Blog.
And of course, sometimes it seems even harder to keep up to speed with the technology of your choice – but let’s talk about that in a future blog post.
By the way: Happy new year and happy online learning with the Microsoft Virtual Academy!

Hi Sebastian,Came across your page this morning since I had this running in mind for quite some time now. I am already working for an IT company. and know just the basics of Microsoft Office/Power point and Excel however I would like to explore in the world of Networking, computer languages, coding, as I am hands on with the travel world when it comes to "Functioning", but fail to give my inputs on the "Technical" aspect and now I am game to learn this too. Please help.Regards,Lovina
