Remarks

A generic renderer interface.

The renderer is responsible for making OpenGL calls to render a frame.

GLSurfaceView clients typically create their own classes that implement this interface, and then call GLSurfaceView#setRenderer to register the renderer with the GLSurfaceView.

<h3>Threading</h3> The renderer will be called on a separate thread, so that rendering performance is decoupled from the UI thread. Clients typically need to communicate with the renderer from the UI thread, because that's where input events are received. Clients can communicate using any of the standard Java techniques for cross-thread communication, or they can use the GLSurfaceView#queueEvent(Runnable) convenience method.

<h3>EGL Context Lost</h3> There are situations where the EGL rendering context will be lost. This typically happens when device wakes up after going to sleep. When the EGL context is lost, all OpenGL resources (such as textures) that are associated with that context will be automatically deleted. In order to keep rendering correctly, a renderer must recreate any lost resources that it still needs. The #onSurfaceCreated(GL10, EGLConfig) method is a convenient place to do this.

Properties

Handle

Gets the JNI value of the underlying Android object.

(Inherited from IJavaObject)
JniIdentityHashCode

Returns the value of java.lang.System.identityHashCode() for the wrapped instance.

(Inherited from IJavaPeerable)
JniManagedPeerState

State of the managed peer.

(Inherited from IJavaPeerable)
JniPeerMembers

Member access and invocation support.

(Inherited from IJavaPeerable)
PeerReference

Returns a JniObjectReference of the wrapped Java object instance.

(Inherited from IJavaPeerable)

Methods

Disposed()

Called when the instance has been disposed.

(Inherited from IJavaPeerable)
DisposeUnlessReferenced()

If there are no outstanding references to this instance, then calls Dispose(); otherwise, does nothing.

(Inherited from IJavaPeerable)
Finalized()

Called when the instance has been finalized.

(Inherited from IJavaPeerable)
OnDrawFrame(IGL10)

Called to draw the current frame.

OnSurfaceChanged(IGL10, Int32, Int32)

Called when the surface changed size.

OnSurfaceCreated(IGL10, EGLConfig)

Called when the surface is created or recreated.

SetJniIdentityHashCode(Int32)

Set the value returned by JniIdentityHashCode.

(Inherited from IJavaPeerable)
SetJniManagedPeerState(JniManagedPeerStates) (Inherited from IJavaPeerable)
SetPeerReference(JniObjectReference)

Set the value returned by PeerReference.

(Inherited from IJavaPeerable)
UnregisterFromRuntime()

Unregister this instance so that the runtime will not return it from future Java.Interop.JniRuntime+JniValueManager.PeekValue invocations.

(Inherited from IJavaPeerable)

JavaCast<TResult>(IJavaObject)

Performs an Android runtime-checked type conversion.
