Business value

Transparency logs increase transparency and trust with sovereign customers and assist with sovereign compliance and other regulatory requirements by providing details about Microsoft engineers' access to customer resources during live site incidents or customer support cases.

Feature details

Transparency logs are designed to build the trust of sovereign customers by providing a heightened level of transparency into Azure operator access and activities. Microsoft collects logs and metrics internally when engineers are temporarily granted privileged access to customer resources to address live site incidents or customer support cases. This internal data is used to provide customers with details about Microsoft engineers' access to their resources, which can assist with sovereign compliance and other regulatory requirements.

Transparency logs are currently in limited preview and are only available to eligible customers. Approved customers will receive operational access advisories for their tenants, summarizing instances where a Microsoft operator is granted temporary access to the customer's Azure resources.
