How to: Allocate Resources to Jobs

You can allocate a resource or resource group’s capacity to one or several jobs.

You allocate resources to jobs in the Resource Allocated per Job window.

To allocate a resource to a job

  1. In the Search box, enter Resources, and then choose the related link.

  2. Open the relevant resource card, and then, on the Navigate tab, in the Planning group, choose Resource Allocated per Job.

  3. Fill in the filters to specify the resource and the view options. On the Actions tab, in the General group, choose Show Matrix.

  4. Select the line of the job to which you intend to allocate resources.

  5. The amount allocated, as specified in the resource’s unit of measure, will consider the resource’s or resource group’s availability, but only when the corresponding job has the status Quote or Order.

  6. To allocate resource groups to jobs, follow the same procedure from the Resource Groups window.
