Beberapa beban kerja database memerlukan memori, penyimpanan, dan bandwidth I/O yang tinggi, tetapi tidak mendapat manfaat dari sejumlah besar inti. Produk yang didesain untuk beban kerja ini sering dilisensikan berdasarkan inti prosesor. Sistem lisensi ini berarti bahwa ukuran VM dengan spesifikasi ideal tetapi jumlah vCPU yang berlebihan dapat mengakibatkan peningkatan besar dalam biaya lisensi. Untuk membantu mengelola biaya Anda, Azure menawarkan ukuran VM yang telah ditentukan sebelumnya dengan jumlah vCPU yang lebih rendah untuk membantu mengurangi biaya lisensi perangkat lunak, sambil mempertahankan memori, penyimpanan, dan bandwidth I/O yang sama.
Jumlah vCPU ukuran asli yang tersedia dapat dikurangi menjadi setengah atau seperempat dari spesifikasi ukuran asli. Ukuran VM baru ini memiliki akhiran yang menentukan jumlah vCPU yang tersedia untuk membuatnya lebih mudah diidentifikasi. Pelajari selengkapnya tentang konvensi penamaan ukuran VM.
Contoh beban kerja
Biaya lisensi yang dikenakan untuk SQL Server didasarkan pada jumlah vCPU yang tersedia. Produk pihak ketiga harus menghitung vCPU yang tersedia dan melaporkannya sebagai jumlah yang akan digunakan dan dilisensikan. Batasan ini menghasilkan peningkatan rasio spesifikasi VM sebesar 50% hingga 75% terhadap vCPU yang tersedia (dapat ditagih) dengan tetap mempertahankan manfaat spesifikasi ukuran VM asli.

Ukuran VM Standard_E32s_v5 dilengkapi dengan 32 vCPU, RAM 256 GiB, 32 disk, dan 80.000 IP bandwidth I/O. Ukuran VM Standard_E32-16s_v5 dan Standard_E32-8s_v5 yang telah ditentukan sebelumnya masing-masing dilengkapi dengan 16 dan 8 vCPU aktif, sambil mempertahankan spesifikasi memori, penyimpanan, dan bandwidth I/O dari Standard_E32s_v5.
