Antarmuka IFormatProvider menyediakan objek yang menyediakan informasi pemformatan untuk memformat dan mengurai operasi. Operasi pemformatan mengonversi nilai jenis menjadi representasi string dari nilai tersebut. Metode pemformatan umum adalah ToString metode jenis, serta Format. Operasi penguraian mengonversi representasi string dari nilai menjadi jenis dengan nilai tersebut. Metode penguraian umum adalah Parse dan TryParse.

Antarmuka IFormatProvider terdiri dari satu metode, IFormatProvider.GetFormat.
