SiteMapNode.ChildNodes Property

Definition

Gets or sets all the child nodes of the current SiteMapNode object from the associated SiteMapProvider provider.

public:
 virtual property System::Web::SiteMapNodeCollection ^ ChildNodes { System::Web::SiteMapNodeCollection ^ get(); void set(System::Web::SiteMapNodeCollection ^ value); };
public virtual System.Web.SiteMapNodeCollection ChildNodes { get; set; }
member this.ChildNodes : System.Web.SiteMapNodeCollection with get, set
Public Overridable Property ChildNodes As SiteMapNodeCollection

Property Value

A read-only SiteMapNodeCollection of child nodes, if any exist for the current node; otherwise, null.

Exceptions

The node is read-only.

Remarks

The SiteMapNode relies on the SiteMapProvider that it is associated with to keep track of its relationships to other nodes in the site map. This property calls the GetChildNodes method, passing a reference to itself, to retrieve the SiteMapNodeCollection.

If security trimming is enabled, only nodes that the current user is permitted to see are returned. If the user is not permitted to see any child nodes, an empty collection is returned.
