View sales orders and totals

You can use the All sales orders and View sales order pages to view information about the sales orders that have been created for customers. Sales orders are created to register the sale of goods or services to customers, and to approve, track, and process shipments to customers.

When you view sales orders, you can view the status, which indicates how far the order has progressed in the sales order cycle:

  • Open order – The sales order was created.

  • Delivered – All order lines have been delivered to the customer.

  • Invoiced – All order lines have been invoiced.

  • Canceled – All order lines have been canceled; all quantities have been returned, and a credit note has been updated and closed.

You can use the View totals page to view various totals for a specific sales order, such as the total weight of the items, and total discounts, taxes, and miscellaneous charges, and invoice amounts. The totals only display the remaining amount that is not invoiced. If a sales order is fully invoiced, then the total is zero.

View sales orders

  1. Click Sales on the top link bar, and then click Sales orders on the Quick Launch.

    –or–

    Click Project on the top link bar, and then click Sales orders on the Quick Launch.

    –or–

    To view sales orders for a specific customer, click Sales on the top link bar, and then click Customers on the Quick Launch. On the All customers list page, on the Sell tab, in the Related information group, click Orders, and then click Sales orders.

  2. On the All sales orders page, click a sales order link.

    –or–

    Select an order. On the Action Pane, on the Sales order tab, click View.

  3. On the View sales order page, you can view detailed information about the order, including the items that were ordered.

View sales order totals

  1. On the All sales orders page, select the sales order to view totals for.

  2. On the Action Pane, on the Sales order tab, in the View group, click Totals.

    On the Action Pane, on the Sales order tab, in the Maintain group, click View. On the View sales order page, on the View tab, in the Show group, click Totals.

  3. On the View totals page, you can view the calculated totals for the order.
