Allow Depr. below Zero Field, Depreciation Book Table
Specifies whether to allow the Calculate Depreciation batch job to continue calculating depreciation even if the book value of the fixed asset is zero or below.
In the Fixed Depr. Amount below Zero field, you can enter a yearly amount or in the Depr. below Zero field, you can enter a yearly percentage. The program will then use this information when calculating depreciation below zero.
Important
If the asset contains a salvage value, "Depreciate below Zero" means "Depreciate below Salvage Value".
Example
An asset has a Book Value of 800 and a salvage value of -800 which means that the asset is fully depreciated. You enter 1,000 in the Fixed Depr. Amount below Zero field in the FA depreciation book and then run the calculate depreciation batch job for the asset. The program will calculate depreciation of 1,000 bringing the book value to -200. If the Salvage Value was 0, the program would calculate depreciation of 1,800 to bring the book value to -1,000.
