The Flow Distinct logical operator scans the input, removing duplicates. Whereas the Distinct operator consumes all input before producing any output, the FlowDistinct operator returns each row as it is obtained from the input (unless that row is a duplicate, in which case it is discarded).
Flow Distinct is a logical operator.
