Add or remove a gradient stop

Gradient stops define the colors that appear in a gradient brush.

To add a gradient stop

  1. Under Brushes in the Properties panel, click the Gradient brush tab Cc294582.91fb0c61-7b3b-4ae7-8a59-760e625e3bd7(en-us,Expression.40).png, and then click either Linear gradient brush Cc294582.bd5eefed-9628-4363-be5d-29bfb5962175(en-us,Expression.40).png or Radial gradient brush Cc294582.4279aa9a-15c2-4435-9937-6848afc38618(en-us,Expression.40).png.

  2. Click anywhere on the gradient slider to insert your gradient stop Cc294582.a3c9e482-e99b-4504-8a02-9507487d1791(en-us,Expression.40).png.

  3. Repeat these steps to add more gradient stops. You can also move a gradient stop by dragging the gradient stop to the position you want.

To automatically add gradient stops by using the gradient eyedropper tool

  2. Next to the gradient slider, click the Gradient eyedropper Gradient eyedropper icon. The pointer changes to the eyedropper Cc294582.02163053-dad9-464e-b6e0-cea4692bea87(en-us,Expression.40).png.

  3. Using the mouse pointer, drag a line anywhere inside the Microsoft Expression Blend application window. When you release the mouse button, the colors that you dragged across are applied as gradient colors to the brush.

To remove a gradient stop

  • Under Brushes in the Properties panel, drag the gradient stop Cc294582.a3c9e482-e99b-4504-8a02-9507487d1791(en-us,Expression.40).png that you want to remove off the bottom of the gradient slider. (Dragging off the sides or top of a gradient slider will not remove a gradient stop.)

Note

Two gradient stops will always be present on the gradient slider for any gradient brush.

You cannot select multiple gradient stops. You can work with only one stop at a time.
