Installing Internet Information Services (IIS) for Team Foundation Server or Team Foundation Proxy
You might have to install Internet Information Services (IIS), with the options that the installation procedures specify, if you are installing Visual Studio Team Foundation Server or Team Foundation Server Proxy.
When you install Team Foundation Server, IIS is installed for you on operating systems other than Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008. If you are using one of these two operating systems or you want to avoid the warning message during installation, you must install IIS first. After you install IIS, you should install any recommended updates from Microsoft by using Windows Update.
Note
You should ensure that the computer that is running Team Foundation Server has adequate disk space for IIS logging. For more information, see the following pages on the Microsoft Web site: Configuring Logging in IIS 7 and Logging Site Activity (IIS 6).
